WHAT WE LOVE RIGHT NOW
There's definitely a noticeable chill in the air this week... perfect for breaking out favorite coats & new sweaters! The salon is decorated for Halloween & we're in the process of planning our holiday promotions... Fall in Athens is the best time of the year. Accordingly, this week's faves have a Fall flair:

Skeletal baubles... not just for Halloween!
I'm a sucker for edgy accessories. Spikes, skulls, pyramid studs- let's just say I'm not a bows & pearls kind of girl! As I've gotten older, I tend to shy away from anything too costume-y, opting for items with a more sophisticated flair. I pair my skull & crossbones ring with a talon ring by Laurel Hill every day. A rhinestone skeleton hands necklace (from the Halloween section of Target a few years ago) is unexpected paired with vintage-inspired necklace from H&M or a vintage brooch. Aztec-inspired skull earrings from Rachel Roy (an anniversary present) read more serious than spooky. Sometimes the dark side is just simply more stylish!

The best part of Halloween in Athens- The Wild Rumpus Parade!
Looking for a great way to get in the Halloween spirit? The Wild Rumpus is the highlight of the season for my family! We love dressing up and heading downtown to see everyone else's amazingly creative costumes. After the parade, we grab dinner- it's our Halloween tradition. Don't feel like wearing a costume? Just head to Clayton Street & watch the spectacle!

Full disclosure- I eat a bag of Starbucks popcorn pretty much every day. My co-workers will tell you this is not an exaggeration! It's the perfect amount of buttery, crunchiness to tide me over until I can actually sit down to eat real food.

Essie Winter 2013 Collection
I have a hard time resisting a new Essie collection. There's always a new color that I just have to have... this time it's Sable Collar. Just as luxurious as the name sounds, this lush, cocoa plum shade with a hint-of-pearlescense polish is unlike anything else in my collection. The shade is perfectly neutral and yet still completely eye-catching!

A rich, red lip from Kenneth Cole's Fall 2013 runway.
The Pageboy staff attended an industry night earlier in the week & local freelance makeup artist, Jeni Smith, presented fall makeup trends. Everyone there was obsessed with this show-stopping red lip, straight from the Kenneth Cole Fall 2013 runway! She used 2 lip liners, Cherry & Vino, along with cult classic Ruby Woo lipstick, all from MAC to create the look. I can't wait to try it out this weekend!

My favorite Mexican restaurant!
I just love Taqueria del Sol. The perfect combination of Southern & Mexican food, everything is always delicious. I love trying out the specials, but my go-to is the Fried Chicken Taco. The patio is perfect, winter or summer and the house margaritas are the best in town! What's not to love?
