Spring 2014 Color Forecast

Hello Loves! Joanna here. For me, the changing of the seasons from winter to spring is all about COLOR. The vibrancy that takes shape around town, deeper greens and vibrant florals popping up everywhere, I adore the city waking up from winter hibernation and blooming with color. The warmer weather has me adding copper to my hair, neon to my makeup palette, and white back into my wardrobe.

I'm not the only one looking forward to the colorful return of life to Athens, GA after a long (way longer than normal, I might add) winter. In fact, all the colorists at Pageboy have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of these Spring Hair Color must-haves, which is why I'm happy to announce that the wait is over! Keep reading for your go-to guide for Spring 2014 color inspiration!

Peach

With most things beauty related, you have to know your skin's tone and undertones to know what looks best on you. If you aren't sure what your skin tone is, then I recommend reading this blog post by local Athens, GA makeup artist where she explains how to determine your skin tone. Once you know that, the world of fashion and beauty is will suddenly make a lot more sense.

Peachy Red

Now that we've got that out of the way, let's continue. Red tones of all hues are majorly trending this Spring. Fire-y peach tones are ideal. As I was saying, if you're thinking of going red (or any color for that matter), let your skin be your guide!  Cooler skin tones look great with wine hues, and warmer skin sizzles with honeyed, apricot reds. Look to Christina Hendricks and Florence Welch for more peachy goodness.

Sultry Mahogany

Next on the list of Spring 2014 Must-Have Colors, we've got Sultry Mahogany. If you tend to lean more toward the dark, sultry hair with hints of warm, neutral, or olive undertones, then you're probably going to want something with deeper hues of mahogany and sienna.

But even if you have cool undertones, it's very possible these will also work for you. These deep rich browns can flatten cool and warm skin tones alike, making it an incredibly versatile color choice. Still, if you're on the very cool side, you may want to go for a caramel color, which we discuss later. As for our favorite rich cocoa style choices, we can't help but applaud Lea Michelle and Demi Moore.

Platinum Blonde

Celebrity stylists are confident that the return of platinum will be THE look of the Spring 2014 season! Whether you're blonde or not, consider brightening your palette with a mixture of platinum, ice, snow, and silver hues. If you don't have cool or neutral undertones, you might want to opt for a warmer blonde, but either way, we're certain that 2014 will be the year of platinum blonde.

One of our favorite platinum blonde celebs? Julianne Hough with this gorgeous ultra light color.

Caramel

From Beyonce to Kim Kardashian, celebrities have proven that caramel hair is universally flattering. In fact, caramel is the ideal way for brunettes to lighten up their look for spring and for Ombré lovers to experiment with a color-melted dimensional style.

Looking for some great caramel inspiration? Consider something flattering like Jessica Biel's totally gorgeous locks.

Thought about changing it up? Stop by and see us for this seasons color must-haves! We can't wait to meet you!
